    Feature release: type ":" in the composer to also autocomplete Unicode emojis (MSC2545), alongside the custom emoticon shortcodes added in 0.11.9.

    What's new

    • Unicode emoji shortcode autocomplete: typing : in the message composer now lists matching Unicode emojis in addition to your custom emoticons, with live glyph thumbnails. Custom emoticons are listed first; keep typing to filter (prefix matches first). Tap a row to insert the emoji glyph directly into your markdown message. Markdown mode only — rich/WYSIWYG mode is unaffected.

    • Shortcode expansion on send: emoticon shortcodes typed into the draft now expand to inline emotes when the message is sent (MSC2545), so :smile: renders as the actual emoji in the sent message.
